Additional Notes For “Selling Book Topics” Piggyback Promo’s

Royalty Payments and Price Points:

Sweet Spot > $2.99 to $9.99 – 70%
This is where you want to price your books, I tend to stay below $4.97, usually pricing my books at $2.99).

Below $2.99 – 35% Royalty payment
Above $9.99 – 35% Royalty payment

Thus when researching “selling books” be sure to also pay attention to the sales price of books, a higher book price would of course lead to higher earnings and books that have a great Amazon Best Sellers Rank but are priced at .99 cents should also be ruled out.

    Hi Brian,

In the video you used an example of a broader category “Cooking, Food & Wine”, even though your Smoothie Recipe Book was in the more narrow (specific) category of “Quick & Easy.”

Should we be looking at the category that we are going to ultimately choose (Quick & Easy) or are you saying to go up the path to (Cookbooks, Food & Wine) the broader category?

in Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Cookbooks, Food & Wine > Quick & Easy

    Thanks for your help.

Despite following some of the kindle training I have yet to make enough to buy me a nice hat. I somehow missed Brian’s Kindle Ritual & I don’t have plans to miss this. Brian to the rescue.

Hi Brian, as usual great stuff. Looking forward to the other videos. My daughter is going to be working for my company this summer. She is going to be involved in writing books. We are going to use the money she makes to pay for some of her college. This is a perfect intro to getting her moving forward.

Does your program work equally well in very competitive markets such as weight loss?

    • Brian G. Johnson

      Jack,

Yes, it does work in competitive niche markets and it also works
in markets that have plenty of revenge but little competition.

In the next video, I will share a book that is in a very competitive
market and I’m dominating averaging around $500 monthly and have made
as much as $980 in one month with one book.

      Thanks for the comment …

    Hey Brian,

How does this new product interface with Kindle Ritual. Is it simply a repackage?

    Thanks,
    Bill

    • Brian G. Johnson

      Hello Bill,

This is very much new training as K Ritual was released nine months ago, Revenge of the Affiliates is based on new tactics and strategies that I have developed over the past months.

Also note, this is a coaching with private no pitch webinars, new software (super secret stuff) and more.

If you have K Ritual, yes some methods will be similar, however this is a natural extension and is based on my results.

Hi Brian. I’m learning so much from these videos. I’m looking forward to the live training Monday! My question is “Which categories would you classify as too competitive?” After listening again to Video #1 I went back to Amazon to do some research and one category meets your criteria, but the top six books all have ABSRs under 10,000. Would you say that specific category would be too competitive? Do you go into this type of information in your Six Step Formula? Thanks for any insight.

      Hey Donna,

Your going to love the training webinar on Monday for sure!

      Hey Mason,

I outsource most of my books …

    Donna,

It’s really dependent on a number of variables, like how you name your book, how other books are named, how well the other books are optimized (book cover, reviews, social proof) …

As the training continues it will make more and more sense, understand that many people publishing do not have access to the strategies that I offering in this free video series and that helps us to compete.

I finally figured what the “G” in Brian’s name stands for.

He is the God of Kindle publishing.

Or, perhaps, the Godfather of Kindle publishing.

Either way, I’m a huge fan.

Glad you liked the content, I certainly have put in some time

    for a few bucks.

Glad your finding these videos are a good use of your time.

    Hi Brian

Many thanks for a really informative video tutorial. Very generous of you to share your knowledge and experience in this way. Looking forward to the next videos.

I have a couple of books on Kindle, already earning royalties but before I upload the next four on KDP, I’m going to make sure that I run through all your videos so that I make the most of the tips given.

Encouraging start to June – 4 book sales today (so far) of my most expensive book (at $8.97). I’ve got 26 books out, and it started around Thanksgiving (Nov 2012) with Brian’s first round of training! Thanks, Brian!

  23. Rick

So Brian if you continually check your book on amazon practically every hour or more does that negatively effect your ranking of your book because you are not buying and just looking at the book?

  24. Brian G. Johnson

    Hello Rick,

I really don’t think that would have a huge impact on rankings UNLESS the
book was not selling (mine is selling) and the volume of lookers was
    massive.

Honestly .. this is a non issue and I would not worry about it.

    Hi Brian\Really enjoyed your video!
I have published a few childrens books on Amazon and have found picking titles tricky and sales fluctuate greatly. Do you cover this area in your course?

    • Brian G. Johnson

      Carol,

Yes, I indeed cover all these issues and more, this course is really about
marketing and driving sales and were simply using books as our product.

enjoyed your webinar – one question…can you create these books too fast?

    • Brian G. Johnson

      Hello Michael,

I’m publishing two to four books a month, you can increase this number
substantially with more outsourcing, can that get you in trouble with amazon?

Only if your creating crap and not following mys system.

      Hope this helps …

How many pages would you suggest for a children’s book?

    • Brian G. Johnson

When it’s done, begin writing and don’t worry about length.
Some of my childrens books are less than 1000 words, none are over
      2500.
